Are you ready to take your yoga teaching and business success to the next level?

Do you want to rejuvenate your love of teaching and practicing yoga?

Are you interested in learning to teach different styles of yoga?

Advance your yoga teaching with our continuing education certificate weekends for Yoga Teachers, Coaches, Massage Therapists, and Healers

Our continuing education weekend trainings begin fall of 2018, and includes 4 immersive weekends, each with 20 hours of training and continuing education. You’ll connect with other teachers, learn new skills in teaching yoga, new styles of teaching, and take the next step in developing your business around what you love to practice, teach, and offer.

You can take one, two, three or all 4 of our continuing education modules. Each weekend is it’s own certificate program and will qualify you for continuing education units at Yoga Alliance, required by registered yoga teachers to maintain their good standing with Yoga Alliance.

In between each module, you will return to your practice and teaching, to give time to assimilate and explore your new knowledge and techniques. A private discussion group will keep us connected and learning together, and your teachers will be available throughout for Q&A to support your growth.

These weekend sessions will be principally led by Jeannie O’Neil, Christopher Grant, Daniela Hess. Other Yoga Farm teachers and regional yoga teachers may join as guest workshop presenters.

You’ll walk away from this program with increased confidence to share what is in your heart with others in your own way. You’ll have knowledge and tools to build your own business and accelerate the evolution of your vision.

Most of the yoga taught in America today is a narrow band of vinyasa flow or power yoga practice, suitable for individuals who are mainly healthy and strong, often young. However we see in our society that yoga can do so much more, for so many diverse population groups.

This module brings a deeper look into ‘Yoga Methods for Healing’. We’ll cover deeply restorative poses, yin yoga practice, and hands-on gentle healing touch.

A restorative yoga sequence typically involves only five or six poses, supported by props that allow you to completely relax and rest. Held for 5 minutes or more, restorative poses include light twists, seated forward folds, and gentle backbends.

Yin Yoga, also known as Taoist Yoga, is a healing variation of yoga loosely based on Chinese Medicine, that incorporates acupressure, meridian therapy, fascia release and connective tissue hydration to cultivate a deeply quiet, meditative state.

This weekend will also include a simple introduction to Healing Touch, which will infuse even simple savasana adjustments with calming, nurturing energy.

The healing practices we will teach you can be incorporated into group classes or given in a 1-on-1 format, so this is an excellent companion to the Private Yoga Session module to follow.

We know you want to be the best teacher you can be, so that you can give others the practices and insights that light you up. In a basic 200 hour training, there is usually minimal time to explore this key topic, of how to really help students practice the yoga they came to learn.

Students often need some assistance or adjustments to experience the full potential of a pose. Yet giving hands on assists and adjustments is one of the hardest parts of teaching, for many teachers. So we’ll review the basics and then get lots of hand on practice with many poses.

This refresher is especially good for you, if it has been some time since you have taken your training or taught classes.

Topics include:

  • Review of basics adjustments and assists.
  • Why give adjustments and assists?
  • Permission to assist
  • Basic approach
  • Learn to assist specific poses you teach regularly
  • Practicing with specific postures
  • Learn new sequencing for safety and variety
  • Anatomy & Energetics of the poses we study
  • Handouts to add to your yoga teacher manual
  • Recommended Books & articles to learn more
  • Suggestions for continued self-study to get in the flow of practice on own

Who is this for?

  • Yoga Teachers who have active classes
  • Teachers who have completed a 200 hour training and haven’t taught much
  • Students currently in a 200 hour training
